Small and
medium-sized businesses and social enterprises throughout the UK are invited to
apply for the Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2013.
The awards recognise
and celebrate the success, best practice, innovative ideas and outstanding
achievements of small and medium-sized businesses throughout the UK, including
a cash prize for category winners.
The award categories
for 2013 comprise:
- Small Business of the Year: A small business able to
demonstrate overall excellence in its field
- Start Up of the Year: A new business able to
demonstrate excellence, innovation and growth or longevity potential
- Innovation of the Year: A small business or
individual that has created and successfully brought to market a product
or service exploiting a gap in the market
- Contribution to the
Community: A
small business, social enterprise or charity able to demonstrate a
positive impact in the local community
- Entrepreneur of the Year: An individual who
successfully launched and continues to run their own business or
businesses
- Tradesperson of the Year: A qualified tradesperson,
defined as a skilled manual labourer, who owns or works in a small
business
The 2013 awards will
be judged by a panel of enterprise experts including leading UK businesswoman
Karen Brady, Brakes' Marketing Director David Hughes, Managing Director at
Luxury for Less Chris Li and James Frost, Marketing Manager at Nectar.
The prize package
includes: £2,000 cash, 50,000 nectar points and national media publicity.

The deadline for
applications is 30 May 2013.
